Dating pots can be difficult.
Because the codes are usually on the back side where you cannot see them.
I recommend using a dental mirror. Remember the code is backwards in the mirror.

Date codes are usually the first two digits.
First digit the month second the year.
Example 3-7 3rd month of 1967.

Example J8 1M Ohm LG= 9th month of 1968.
I is not included in letter date codes because
it looks like the number 1.
